    Hey everybody,

Check out this image I made today of a Northern Shrike. I’ve always had quite a hard time with these birds, and was pretty excited when I came across this one, thanks to a few other photographers.

    Massive update!

Wow, it sure has been a while since I posted a blog entry. If you scan through some posts over the past six months or so, I’m sure you’ll see multiple instances in which I’ve promised that I’m back for good, and that I’ll finally start posting more, and so on and so forth. Well, I mean it this time, hehe…

So, let me get you all up to date with what I’ve had going on lately! So, I was informed this September that I have received the award of “Youth Photographer of the Year” from Nature’s Best Photography Magazine’s Windland Smith Rice International Awards. They’ve chosen my image titled Barred Owl Stare. You can view a youtube video featuring all of the photographs here. A four-by-six foot print of my image, along with several dozen other stunning nature photographs are on display at the Smithsonian Institute’s Museum of Natural History right here in Washington, D.C. until May. It’s a fantastic exhibit, and I highly recommend you pay it a visit if you’re in the area!

On a less exciting note, I flipped my car over! Oops. Luckily, I was only going 20MPH, and was wearing a seat belt. I’m gonna try and keep all 4 wheels on the ground from here on out. Wish me luck!

Now I’ll get back to the important stuff. I have a new website, which I suppose is quite obvious if you’re viewing this blog. Over the next few weeks I’ll be putting the finishing touches on, adding my info pages, integrating print sales, and a couple hundred photographs! I hired Jack Brauer at Widerange Galleries to design my site, and he was extremely pleasant and helpful throughout the process. I don’t want it to sound like this is an advertisement for his work, but man, is it good!

One additional thing I’d like to share is that I’ve made facebook and twitter pages for my photography. You can access them here and here.

Two things I forgot to add–

I’m just beginning the daunting task of completely revamping my website! Seeing as I am still six months behind with my processing, it’ll be a few months in the making, that’s for sure. Also, I’m enrolled for classes at Northern Virginia Community College for this fall, where I’ll attend for a year before transferring to another school.
