Brown-capped, Gray-crowned, and Black Rosy-Finches, Elk Mountains, Gunnison National Forest, Colorado

Hey everybody,

I’m currently on a family vacation in Colorado. There’s no way I’m going to travel to this beautiful state without packing my photo gear! I snowshoed up Shrine Pass, which didn’t yield any photographs I’m happy with, and I took a much more successful day trip down to Gunnison, in search of Rosy-Finches. Thanks to the help of some extremely kind and generous residents of Gunnison that I ran into, I was directed to a spot where I found and successfully photographed all three species of Rosy-Finches: Brown-capped Rosy-Finches, Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches, and Black Rosy-Finches, pictured below in that order.
